Cold marsh mallow root infusion

  • Makes: 1 cup
  • Time: 5 min + 1 to 2 hrs steeping
  • From: Marsh mallow

Ingredients

  • 2 teaspoons dried marsh mallow root in small pieces
  • 250 ml cold water
  • a spoonful of honey (optional)

Method

  1. Put the root pieces in a bowl or jar and pour over the cold water.
  2. Leave to steep for 1 to 2 hours, stirring now and then: the water turns slightly syrupy.
  3. Strain through a fine sieve.
  4. If you like, warm it gently until lukewarm (do not boil) and stir in the honey.

Storing: Make it fresh and drink it the same day: it spoils quickly. Do not take medicines at the same time.
