Pink jasmine: when to prune it?
After flowering, in April–May. Pruning later costs flowers, as the stems that flower the following winter grow during summer.
Pink jasmine: how to prune it?
- Cut flowered stems back to a few pairs of leaves to keep it compact.
- Remove dead and weak stems completely.
- An overgrown plant can be cut back hard; it regrows quickly.
- Then wind the young stems around the hoop again.
How much to cut, and how often?
- One pruning period a year: April–May.
What does it mean for wildlife?
- A houseplant lives indoors, so wildlife hardly notices the pruning. Healthy clippings can go on the compost.
