Dried apple rings
- Makes: ± 150 g
- Time: 20 min + 6–8 hours drying

Ingredients
- 1 kg apples
- juice of ½ lemon
- 1 litre water
Method
- Remove the cores with an apple corer; there is no need to peel.
- Slice the apples into 5 mm rings and dip them straight into the lemon water to stop them browning.
- Drain and spread the rings out on oven racks or dehydrator trays.
- Dry for 6 to 8 hours at 50–60 °C with the oven door ajar, turning them halfway through.
- They are done when leathery and no longer moist; leave to cool and put them in a jar.
