Rose hip tea with apple and cinnamon
- Makes: ± 1 litre (4 cups)
- Time: 10 min + 15 min steeping
- From: Sweet-briar
Ingredients
- 3 tbsp dried, deseeded rose hips (or 10 fresh, halved and deseeded)
- 1 litre water
- 1 cinnamon stick
- peel of ½ unwaxed apple (or 1 tbsp dried apple slices)
- honey to taste
Method
- Lightly crush the dried hips in a mortar or with the back of a spoon.
- Put them in a pan with the water, the cinnamon stick and the apple peel and bring to the boil.
- Leave to steep gently for 15 minutes with the lid on.
- Pour the tea through a fine cloth or coffee filter so that all the hairs stay behind.
- Sweeten to taste with a little honey.
Storing: Drink the tea warm or keep it for a day in the fridge. Dried hips keep for a year in a closed jar.
