Liquorice and mint tea

Ingredients

  • 1 piece of dried liquorice root, about 3 cm (as thick as a pencil)
  • 300 ml water
  • a few mint leaves (fresh or dried)

Method

  1. Cut or crush the liquorice into small pieces or splinters.
  2. Bring it to the boil with the water and simmer gently for 10 minutes with the lid on.
  3. Remove from the heat, add the mint and leave to steep for another 3 minutes.
  4. Strain and drink warm or cold. The tea is sweet enough without sugar.

Storing: Drink it the same day, one cup a day at most; not every day for weeks.
