Horehound tea with honey

Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon dried (or 2 teaspoons fresh) horehound leaves
  • 250 ml water
  • 1 spoonful of honey
  • a slice of lemon (optional)

Method

  1. Bring the water to the boil.
  2. Put the leaves in a tea infuser and pour over the water.
  3. Leave to steep for 5 to 10 minutes: the longer, the more bitter.
  4. Strain, stir in the honey and drink warm, with lemon if you like.

Storing: Drink it fresh, and not every day. Dried leaves keep for a year in a closed jar.
