Chinese quince in honey
- Makes: ± 2 jars
- Time: 30 min + 2 weeks
- From: Chinese quince
Ingredients
- 1 Chinese quince (± 600 g)
- 400 g runny honey
- 1 piece of ginger (optional)
Method
- Rub off the down, quarter the fruit, remove the core and pips and slice the flesh very thinly.
- Put the slices with the ginger into clean jars.
- Pour over the honey until everything is covered and seal.
- Leave for 2 weeks in the fridge; the honey becomes runnier and takes on the scent of quince.
Storing: A few months in the fridge. A spoonful in hot water makes a fragrant drink for a scratchy throat; the slices can be eaten.
