Liqueur · From Bladwijzer
Blackberry liqueur
- Makes: ± 600 ml
- Time: 20 min + 4–6 weeks steeping
- From: Bramble
Ingredients
- 400 g ripe blackberries
- 350 ml gin or vodka (± 40 %)
- 150 g caster sugar
- 1 strip of unwaxed lemon peel
- 1 cinnamon stick (optional)
Method
- Rinse the blackberries briefly and drain them well. Crush them lightly with a fork.
- Put the blackberries in a clean 1-litre jar with the sugar, lemon peel and cinnamon, and pour the spirit over.
- Close the jar and shake well. Keep it somewhere cool and dark.
- Shake the jar daily for the first week, then once a week.
- After 4–6 weeks, strain through a fine sieve or cloth without squeezing too hard. Taste and add a little sugar syrup if needed.
- Pour the liqueur into clean bottles and leave to mature for another 2 weeks before drinking.
Storing: A year or longer in a cool, dark place; shake before serving. It contains ± 20 % alcohol: drink in moderation, and not for children, during pregnancy or before driving.
