Tea · From Bladwijzer
Fresh mint tea
- Makes: 1 teapot (± 1 litre)
- Time: 10 min
- From: Spearmint
Ingredients
- a generous handful of spearmint sprigs (± 15 g)
- 1 litre water
- optionally 1 to 2 tablespoons sugar or honey
- optionally 1 teaspoon green tea (gunpowder)
Method
- Rinse the mint briefly and shake it dry.
- Bring the water to the boil. For Moroccan mint tea, first steep the green tea for 2 minutes in a little boiling water, pour that water away and fill up the pot.
- Put the mint in the teapot, pour over the hot water and leave to steep for 5 minutes.
- Sweeten to taste and pour from a height so the tea froths a little.
Storing: Drink it fresh. Cooled, with a squeeze of lemon, it keeps for a day in the fridge as iced tea.
